Impassioned calls to vote for a given party are not sufficient,

As a 'progressive' student I am very interested in supporting the goal of this site, but am taken aback by the response in the forums. While the condemnations of the site at first leaning toward the NDP and then remaining undecided are passionate, they lack anything beyond anecdotal stories, anger and what an individual is hearing at the door. In short, they duplicate exactly the sort of 'reasonable' argument that all the television pundits engage in. I have always voted NDP, but I am more than willing to vote for a party that is better positioned to win in my riding. However, I will do so based primarily on hard data. Polls are inaccurate, especially the battleground polls due to regional variation, but what reasonable alternative is there for an independent site to use when making a recommendation? Finally the degree to which I am swayed by a belief that my preferred party is entitled to a vote/superior or my day to day life of walking in doors, as we all inevitably will be swayed, will not spur me to present this view as evidence for condemnation of this site. For the sake of the mission of this site I hope the same remains true of the majority of the Canadian population. Patrick Smith
